  • Studied Agricultural Science at the University of Hohenheim; Diploma in the Economics and Social Sciences of Agriculture in 1992. Master of Arts in Economics (MA) at Ohio State University in 1997. PhD in Agricultural Science at the University of Hohenheim in 2003.
  • 1991-1992 Study visits to developing countries.
  • 1993-1995 Trainee and employee at the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg.
  • 1997-2001 Research associate at the University of Hohenheim in the field of rural financial markets and consultant for organisations in the area of economic cooperation. Prior to joining the ISI.
  • 2001-2005 research associate at the University of Karlsruhe at the Institute for Economic Policy and Economic Research.
  • 2005-2007 Assistant to the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research in Karlsruhe.
  • From September 2007 to December 2011, research associate in the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Systems.
  • Since January 2012: research associate in the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets at Fraunhofer ISI.
  • In addition, lecturer at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, from 2008 till 2010, since 2010 lecturer at the University Karlsruhe (KIT) in the field of resource economics.
